About bracken and sole
Emily Dooley is the owner of Bracken and Sole. She has lived on Dartmoor for over 20 years. As a fully trained and successful shoemaker, she had been making quality footwear since 2013.
Wanting to keep the endangered traditional craft of shoemaking alive Emily started Bracken and Sole in 2021 in an upstairs workshop, above a nursery, on the edge of Dartmoor. In 2023 we moved to a bright shop in the heart of Okehampton.
We use a range of high quality, full grain leather including a selection of Britsh leathers. Each pair are lined with leather lining and topstitched for longevity.
We want to create stylish footwear that is comfortable, long lasting and repairable. We do our best to cater for all widths, shapes and sizes of feet.
